Full rewire & outbuildings
Had a complete rewire to our house, garages and outbuildings. It wasn't an easy job, but Tristan and his colleagues got it done in less time than they said they would. Why a local electrician matters in Gravesend
North Kent is a real mix, and the electrics change street to street. Round the older parts of Gravesend and Northfleet you've got Victorian and Edwardian terraces where rubber and cloth-insulated cable, wooden-backed fuseboards and lighting circuits with no earth still turn up. The 1930s semis spread across Northfleet and Istead Rise have their own quirks. After working on these houses for a while you get a feel for what's behind the wall before you start cutting.
Then there's the new side of the patch. Ebbsfleet Valley and the developments around Springhead are full of modern homes — and modern homes mean modern jobs: EV chargers on the driveway, extra circuits for the garden office, power out to the garage. EV charging is one of the biggest things I get called for, and with new driveways going in everywhere from New Barn to New Ash Green it's only getting busier.
Out in the villages — Cobham, Shorne, Meopham, Vigo, Hartley and Longfield — it's older, often detached properties with outbuildings, long cable runs and gardens that want lighting and power doing properly. New Ash Green is a bit of a one-off, a planned 1960s village with its own style of housing and its own little electrical foibles. Being based in Northfleet means I know the area rather than just turning up with a postcode in the sat-nav.
Whether you're in a riverside terrace or a brand-new build out at Ebbsfleet, the job's the same: do it safely, do it tidy, and leave you with the right paperwork. If you're near the edge of the patch and not sure I cover you, just ring and ask.

Do you charge for quotes?
No. Quotes are free and there's no obligation. If it's easier for you, I also do free video consultations — show me the job over a video call and I can usually give you a good idea of cost without arranging a visit first.
Are you a registered electrician?
Yes. I'm NICEIC approved, TrustMark Registered, and qualified through City & Guilds, EAL, ECS and BPEC. Notifiable work is backed by the NICEIC Platinum Promise, so you're covered.
How quickly can you respond in an emergency?
I cover emergencies 24/7, and most emergency calls I get to within the hour. If your power's out, your fuseboard's tripping and won't reset, or there's a burning smell from a socket, ring me and I'll get to you as fast as I can.
How soon can you book me in?
For non-urgent work I can usually get you booked in within a few days, and smaller jobs often sooner. When you get in touch I'll give you a realistic date up front rather than leaving you hanging. Emergencies are separate — those I cover 24/7 and aim to reach within the hour.
Do you install EV chargers?
Yes — EV charge points are one of the main things I do, for homes and small commercial sites. I'll check your supply and consumer unit can take it, sort the cable run tidily, and set it up properly. I also handle the whole application for you — submitting it to your electricity network operator to get the charger approved — so there's nothing for you to chase. Solar and battery storage compatible installs too if you've got panels, a home battery, or are planning them.
What is an EICR and do I need one?
An EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report) is a full inspection of the electrics in a property, with a report on anything that needs attention. Landlords legally need one every five years for rented homes. Homeowners aren't required to have one, but it's well worth it if you're buying, selling, or the place hasn't been checked in years.
Do you cover both Kent and the London side?
Yes. I'm based in Northfleet, so Gravesend, Northfleet, Ebbsfleet Valley and the surrounding villages are my home patch — but I work across the boundary into the London side too: Bexley, Bexleyheath, Welling, Sidcup, New Eltham, Chislehurst and Swanley. If you're not sure whether you're in range, ring and ask.
Are you insured?
Yes — I carry full public liability insurance and I'm happy to send the certificate over before I start.
Do you guarantee your work?
Yes. You get the proper certification and Building Control notification where it's needed, and notifiable work is covered by the NICEIC Platinum Promise for six years. If something needs a second look after I've finished, I come back and put it right.
What are your opening hours?
